The Power of a Strong Network

Don’t you hate it when a plan goes sideways?

Many of you know that I serve as President of Business and Professional Women of Greater Londonderry.

Recently, our meeting took an unexpected turn. Just a few days before, I learned that our guest speaker had to cancel. I’ll admit, for a moment, I was at a loss. What was I going to do with an empty speaker slot and a meeting fast approaching?

Then I did what I always tell others to do… I turned to my network.

My friend and colleague Marlene Paquette came through in the clutch, delivering an incredible presentation about her work on the board of Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire. It was heartfelt, inspiring, and a wonderful reminder of how powerful community can be.

That experience reinforced one of my core beliefs: The time to build your network is before you need it.

A strong network gives you options. It gives you trusted people who will show up when you need them most.

I’m so grateful for the connections I’ve built through BNI, BPW Greater Londonderry, ExcelerateHER, and the Greater Londonderry Chamber of Commerce. These relationships have opened doors, created opportunities, and provided support when it mattered most.
